Downtown land re-zoned to accommodate six storey hotel

The proposal to build a six storey hotel on Oak Street West has received committee support from North Bay council.  The full vote comes next Monday, but that`s expected to be a rubber stamp to approve the project.

The hotel would be outfitted with 100 rooms with small kitchenettes.   It would also house a Starbucks and another outlet which could be the Keg although negotiations are continuing in this area.

The hotel is expected to make a more vibrant downtown.  Also it`s the second major project for the downtown coming a few months after the health unit announced it`s building in the same area.
