DNSSAB sends cheques ahead of potential strike

The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board has sent out Ontario Works assistance cheques early.

They sent out July’s monthly cheques this week in preparation of a strike or lock-out at Canada Post.Recipients should have received their cheques for July, by sometime Thursday if all necessary documents were submitted on time.

The DNSSAB are encouraging individuals to sign up for Direct Bank Deposit so funds can go directly into their bank account in the event of a service disruption from Canada Post.

Officials say in the event of a strike you can also go to the local Ontario Works office to pick up the next cheque in person.
