After 30 years at the North Bay Fire Department, Fire Chief Grant Love is hanging up his boots.
Love spent the last 8 years as North Bay Fire Chief.
He’s seen a lot in his tenure, including the emphasis changing from fire suppression to fire prevention, which he says is the way it should be.
Spending more time with his family is at the top of the list of things he’ll be doing more of in retirement, which includes his daughter and her family in North Bay, as well as visiting his son and his family in British Columbia.

Love said the thing he’ll miss most about the Fire Department is helping the citizens of North Bay every day.
Love and his wife plan on staying in North Bay after retirement.
