The North Bay and District Labour Council announced the start of its food driveĀ for the North Bay Food Bank this morning.
The food drive will run until September 22nd.
President of the Council, Henri Giroux, says he feels it was an opportunity for the labour movement to get engaged with the community and the food bank.
Giroux says with the economy the way it is, and after hearing feedback from his own employees, he knew this was something the council needed to do.Ā Giroux added that for families living pay cheque to pay cheque, things like the food bank are incredibly important.
North Bay Labour is calling on all local unions to support the North Bay Food Bank by donating to help families in need.
