If you’re into canoeing, there’s a great chance to capture the fall colours coming up on Saturday. The Friends of the La Vase Portages are holding their inaugural fall tour. The La Vase Portages is a 14-kilometre section of the historic Voyageur canoe route between the Mattawa and French Rivers.
Chair-elect Darren Patey says this is a round-trip excursion, showcasing picturesque landscapes and some historical landmarks in our community. Patey adds that this is a perfect opportunity for any photographers in the area, if they want to get some beautiful fall shots.
The Friends of the La Vase Portages is a not-for-profit group. So, Patey says when they run their events, it’s also a way that they can do some fundraising to help the cause. A small trail lunch will be provided. It costs $20 to register, and they request you do so by the end of today.
