Battalion come from behind the third period to stun the Ottawa 67’s 8-5

The North Bay Battalion got their second win of the season on home ice last night, after a big come from behind 8-5 win against the Ottawa 67’s. The Troops potted the first goal of the game, a short-handed tally by Kyle Potts early in the first. Ottawa upped the pressure in the second period going up 4-2 until Zach Poirier cut into the deficit making it 4-3 going into the third. Brett McKenzie tied up the game just under five minutes into the third.

A minute and twelve seconds later Zach Poirier gave the Troops the lead. Ottawa tied it a short time later, but Adam Thilander scored what ended up being the game-winning-goal on the PP. Brett Hargrave and Adam McMaster added goals for the 8-5 final. The Troops will head to Guelph tonight to take on the Storm, and then they are off to Hamilton for a Saturday night showdown.
