Annual downtown Christmas walk a big success

This year’s annual Christmas walk was a huge success according to Downtown North Bay Executive Director Jeff Serran. He says thanks to Mother Nature and the events that took place on Friday night, he’s expecting the number of people that came out to be around 13,000.

One of the bigger benefits to the walk is the exposure downtown businesses get. Serran says it was a big coup for local businesses that saw an uptick in customers, with one business owner saying it was the best night she’s had since moving to Main Street.

The DIA is hosting its annual free Christmas movie this Saturday at the Capitol Centre. Serran says kids can watch for free while their parents shop carefree downtown. It starts at 2:00pm, and while it is free they are accepting non-perishable food items at the door.
