Over $3,600 raised by Nipissing University for Movember

Nipissing University students, staff and faculty raised nearly $3,700 over the past month for Movember. All of that money will go to the Movember Foundation of Canada. NUSU Director-at-Large, Jasmin Beal, says they had amazing support from local businesses and the campus community. She says she’s proud to be on a campus that promotes mental health, open conversation and philanthropy.

The overall department that led the way was the Geography Club with just over $2,000 raised. Student Learning & Transitions led all teams with $520 raised, and Dr. Eric Mattson led the way per person with $500 raised. Geography Club President, Kiera Vere, says their Movember campaign promoted mental health awareness, physical health, and education about prostate and testicular cancer.
