$1,405 in Fines for Land and Vehicle Violations for four North Bay-area men

Over $1,400 in fines has been handed out to four North Bay-area men for public land and off-road all-terrain vehicle offences. The four men drove their ATVs to a beach area on Lake Temagami, past a sign that indicated restricted motorized access.

A witness saw the men driving their ATVs along the beach without helmets took photos of the men and sent the photos to conservation officers, who investigated and laid the charges.

Eric Lebrun of Commanda has been found guilty and fined $350 for defying the notice and $585 for two counts of failing to wear a proper helmet. Mark Ashfield of Redbridge, Donny Deslisle of North Bay, and Sean Villeneuve of Commanda all pleaded guilty and were each fined $100 for violating the notice. Deslisle and Villeneuve were also each fined an additional $85 for failing to wear proper helmets.
