The recent economic update from the provincial government revealed that hospitals within the Northeast Local Health Integration Network are getting $7.7 million in additional funding. The LHIN says it’s to improve meeting serious healthcare needs, reduce wait times and support increased access to services.
The North Bay Regional Health Centre is getting just over a million dollars, which is the second largest portion awarded in the northeast. West Nipissing General Hospital will receive over $160,000 and Mattawa General is getting nearly $69,000.
