Coach4Food campaign underway

The North Bay Food Bank is organizing the Coach4Food campaign this year, and will try its best to continue the tradition that started back in 2005. Tom Hedican, founder of Coach4Food, has stepped back from running the on ice practices with teams this year for personal reasons but they still have the partnership with the North Bay Battalion. The Troops are providing the prizes for the teams who collect the most food or monetary donations.

They are planning a city wide food drive on Sunday, December 18th from 10:30am to noon. Minor hockey teams and volunteers will be canvasing the city and after the food drive and the North Bay Battalion will be hosting Peterborough Petes at 2:00pm. The day will be known as “Food Bank Day” at Memorial Gardens and they ask anyone planning on going to that game to bring a non-perishable food item along with them. Minor hockey volunteers will be at the game to collect the food on behalf of the Food Bank.
