The Powassan Voodoos are back in action tonight, looking to make it three straight victories if they can defeat the red hot Kirkland Lake Goldminers. The Goldminers have won five straight heading into tonight’s matchup. The Voodoos haven’t played since last Monday, when they beat the Iroquois Falls Eskis 10-6. Puck drop at the Powassan Sportsplex is at 7:30pm.
Powassan remains first in the NOJHL at 38-6-1-1 with nine games remaining in the regular season after tonight. The latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 rankings were announced today, and Voodoos jumped one spot to sixth overall in the 132-team CJHL, while the NOJHL’s second placed team the Soo Thunderbirds moved to 16th.
