Dionne Quints Home saga could finally see a conclusion at city council tonight

North Bay city council meets tonight, and there might finally be a resolution in the Dionne Quints Home saga. Two presentations are currently scheduled on the issue, including one from Jeff Fournier, the Friends of the Dionne Quints Museum Chair.

After that council will vote on a motion of reconsideration, which involves a plan to study the idea of keeping the home here as a static display. Council hasn’t voted on the original motion yet, which recommends moving the home and some artifacts to Strong Township, with some artifacts going to the Callander Bay Museum and Harris Learning Library.

A committee meeting will be held at 6:30pm to start things off, and headlining that agenda is a report on an increase in arena user fees. Then at 7:30pm the regular portion of the council agenda includes a report on the Downtown Water Front masterplan, the City of North Bay’s ten-year strategic plan, and a report about King’s Landing Multi-Use Pier.
