Locked out Children’s Aid Workers get support from local MPP’s during Queen’s Park visit

Locked out Children’s Aid Society Workers went to Queens Park yesterday to let the MPP’s know about the issues they face in their current labour dispute. The issue came up during Question Period, with Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli and Parry Sound MPP Norm Miller calling on Minister of Children and Youth Services Michael Coteau to get more involved in ending the dispute. Coteau is response said there is a process in place to settle this dispute, like with a similar labour dispute in Peel earlier this year.

CUPE Local 2049 President, Debbie Hill, says while she understands the minister’s point, the time is now to settle this dispute. That’s because Hill says families are now at risk, and something substantive has to be done by the government to end this dispute.
