Surviving Dionne Quintuplet sisters could pay a visit to North Bay in the future

The two surviving Dionne Quintuplet sisters may visit North Bay in the near future. That’s according to Councillor Chris Mayne, who along with Friends of the Dionne Quints Museum Chairman Jeff Fournier met with Annette Dionne on Saturday.

Mayne in a Facebook post said: “It was a pleasure to meet Annette Dionne with Friends of the Dionne Home Chair – Jeff Fournier, yesterday (Saturday) in Montreal. Cecile had hoped to join us but was still on the mend from a recent fall. Annette is a wonderful lady, still using her tread mill for a few minutes every morning, we enjoyed tea & cake for our two hour visit before returning back to North Bay. Annette is very supportive of keeping the old family home and artefacts together and if the Friends of Dionne’s efforts are successful in keeping them in North Bay, she and Cecile, subject to their health, would be pleased to consider visiting North Bay to see them again.”

The Dionne sisters have been watching the situation regarding their home in North Bay unfold from Montreal. Their spokesperson Carlo Tarini has delivered letters on the sister’s behalf to council over the last couple of months that have been read by both Fournier and Miles Peters at council. Mayne is the chair of the new review committee tasked with coming up with a plan that will keep the Dionne Home Museum and it’s artifacts in the city. Councillors George Maroosis and Derek Shogren also sit on the new committee, which has until April 4th to deliver a proposal to council.
