North Bay Battalion on the outside of the playoff picture again after loss to Sault Ste Marie

The North Bay Battalion are on the outside looking in again in the playoff chase after a 5-2 loss to the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds yesterday.

Brett Hargrave and Kyle Potts scored for the Troops and goaltender Julian Sime faced 50 shots in net, making 45 saves. North Bay is now fourth in the Central Division and ninth overall in the Eastern Conference. The Troops are two points back of the Niagara IceDogs and Ottawa 67’s, who are tied for seventh place in the conference.

The Troops defeated the Saginaw Spirit 3-2 on Saturday night before busing to Sault Ste. Marie after the game. The Battalion finished up their five game road trip 2-3-0. The Battalion return home this week, and will be back in action on Thursday night at Memorial Gardens when the Barrie Colts come to town.
