Single vehicle collision in North Bay leads to charges

A 24-year-old North Bay man has been arrested by city police for mischief and failing to remain at the scene of a collision. Police say yesterday morning, the man drove his vehicle off of the road on Wallace Road and down a steep incline. The vehicle and the highway guardrails were heavily damaged as a result.

The man wasn’t hurt, left the vehicle and fled the area without contacting police or trying to report the collision. Later that morning he finally did call police, but he told them his car had been stolen. Eventually he got around to telling police the truth that he was in fact behind the wheel at the time of the single vehicle collision.

He was released from custody, and has a court date scheduled for April 11th.
