More opposition to a potential casino is expected to make its way to city council this week. Members of No Casino North Bay and others will present tomorrow night as part of an effort to stop a casino from being built in the city. Michael Ianiro is the only presenter currently listed on the council agenda, but all five minute presentations are not included on that list.
These presentations join the handful of others that have come before council over the past year warning of the impact a casino could have on the community. A couple of months ago, more than 60 local physicians signed a petition that called on council to protect residents from the negative effects of a casino. So far very little has been said by members of council to discuss the decision made a few years ago that North Bay would be a willing host community.
