It’s the time of year when North Bay city streets become home to plenty of potholes. As spring continues its freeze and thaw cycle, potholes have begun to develop on streets across the city faster than usual. A release from the city admits this can create driving challenges, and can be irritating to driver.
The winter and spring seasons usually present issues for crews when they try to deal with potholes. During these seasons pothole fixes are generally only temporary because they can’t achieve a good bond between the pavement and the patch. As a result the patches deteriorate quickly when subjected to the freeze and thaw cycles, heavy traffic and bad weather.
If you know of an especially bad pothole, you can report it to the city’s Public Works Department at 705-474-4340. The city asks you provide a detailed description of the pothole’s location, and they will address any of the bigger potholes that affect traffic first.
