Powassan Voodoos complete sweep of Kirkland Lake Goldminers

The Powassan Voodoos beat the Kirkland Lake Goldminers 7-6 in Game 4 to complete the second round sweep, but it came right down until the final buzzer. The Voodoos took a 6-1 lead into the locker room after two periods of play, only to see the Gold Miners storm out of the gate in the third period to cut into the lead.

Tyson Gilmour scored the game winning goal, and led the way with two goals and an assist in the victory. Andy Baker, Eric Nagy, Gary Mantz, Parker Bowman, Gabriel Rheault also scored for the Voodoos. Nate McDonald finished the night with 35 saves.

The win gives the Voodoos a break until late next week when they will take on the winner of the Cochrane-Timmins series. The Timmins Rock currently leads that series two games to one with Game 4 in Timmins set for Saturday night.
