22 Wing Honorary Colonels announce Royal Canadian Air Force band Jetstream coming to North Bay in May

The 22 Wing Honorary Colonels announced earlier this week they are bringing the Royal Canadian Air Force band Jetstream back to North Bay to perform their Glowing Hearts Concert in May. Jetstream is an internationally-renowned 12-piece show band that combines a complete cross section of music including rock, pop, R & B, funk and disco. Honorary Colonel George Burton says they were fortunate to have had them play last year at the dinner where they honoured Peter Handley. He added anyone who heard them were pleasantly surprised by the sound and repertoire of classic music featuring many smash hits. Burton says after they heard them at their last event, it was decided that it would be a great opportunity to showcase them to the whole community and they are pleased to bring them back for a full show and dance.

The event will take place at the Canadore College Aviation Technology Campus hangar on Saturday, May 13th. The $35 tickets for the event are available from Cecil’s Brewhouse, Bill Jacko, or any of the Honorary Colonels. Honorary Colonel Harriet Madigan says a lot of the work they do is in support of the work that the Military Family Resource Centre does on behalf of military families. She says they will be the benefactors of the funds generated from this event. Madigan says this is a win/win in that people in North Bay will have the opportunity to be part of a great evening of entertainment and dancing while at the same time, they are able to generate dollars for the MFRC.
