YMCA inviting members of the community to Healthy Kids Day this weekend

The YMCA in North Bay is celebrating Healthy Kids Day on Sunday, April 30th by offering families the opportunity to drop by the Y for free. In a release, the YMCA is encouraging parents to bring their children to try the Y and participate in activities while learning the joys of living a healthy lifestyle, together, as a family. The festivities will begin at 12:00pm and run until 3:00pm, while an open swim will be happening at 2:30pm and run until 4:30pm.

The YMCA will be on site offering healthy snacks, giant inflatables, games, fitness fun, music & dance, heart-pumping entertainment, health & safety tips and draws for prizes. A number of community organizations will also be on site to engage children and families with information and healthy activities as part of Healthy Kids Day.

Some of the organizations include the Metis Nation of Ontario, Community Living, Indian Friendship Centre, and Hands the Family Health Network. Booths from the City of North Bay and Nipissing Parry Sound District Health Unit will be on site as well. Kids are also encouraged to bring their bikes and helmets for a Community Bike Rodeo with Discovery Routes.
