YMCA Hosting Elementary Day and Road Hockey Spring Classic

It’s going to be a busy couple of days for the YMCA, with Elementary Day happening tomorrow and the Road Hockey Spring Classic taking place on Saturday. Elementary Day is bringing over 200 kids from three local school boards together for a day full of hockey. Things kicks off at 9:40am with CEO of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario Kim Kanmacher and Shannon Unger from RE/MAX welcoming everyone to Lee Park. Games get underway at 10:00am and wrap up at 2:30pm with medals being presented to the participating athletes.

Then on Saturday, 24 teams will participate in the road hockey classic. They’ll be playing 20-minute games while raising money for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. The event begins at 9:40am with the VP of Health and Fitness from the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario Nicole Beattie, Chair of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign Dave Saad and Shannon Unger from RE/MAX welcoming players to Lee Park. Mayor Al McDonald will also bring greetings on behalf of the city.

The first ball drops at 10:00am and games run throughout the day, with things wrapping up at 4:00pm followed by prize presentations. A medal ceremony for players from the North Bay North Stars and PADDLE teams will be held at 1:30pm.
