DNSSAB recognized as a municipal champion

The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board has won the Local Municipal Champion Award for its work with the GetTrainedWorkers.com program. The award is handed out annually by the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association. It recognizes an organization’s commitment to planning, managing and delivering quality human services in Ontario. DSSAB Chair Mark King says receiving this award is a testament to the hard work by staff in serving the Nipissing District.

The Local Municipal Champion Award recognizes the DNSSAB’s innovative leading-edge approach to Ontario Works case management. GetTrainedWorkers.com connects businesses with a state of the art database that makes matching employers with potential employees easy and efficient. The program sort’s caseloads, determining how ready a potential employee is, and is done in partnership with the North Bay Chamber of Commerce.

The new database program was launched in February, and helps small and medium size businesses easily find the right candidate that matches their needs. It also gives employers access to a large amount of pre-screened and qualified candidates.
