Phase 2 of Pearce Street construction beginning next week

Bruman Construction is scheduled to start construction work along Pearce Street between Francis Avenue and Canterbury Crescent next week. The scope of work includes road works to the road base aggregates, asphalt, curb and gutter, sidewalk and grassed boulevard. Underground work will include the installation of a new water main and repairs to the sanitary and storm sewer systems. The construction contract, valued at $1.8 million, was approved by city council back in June.

Pearce Street will be closed to through traffic between Francis Street and Greenhill Avenue for the duration of the project. Detours will be set up for drivers, and local traffic on Pearce Street will be redirected using directional signage as needed.

Bruman Construction will try to limit the amount of noise and other construction inconveniences during this project. There will be a City inspector available onsite for the duration of the project to liaise with the public. The project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2017.
