The actual locations haven’t been determined, but sometime in the near future Ontario will see 40 new seniors centres built. Cities and towns will be asked to submit proposals making the case for why they should have a new seniors centre. A government spokeswoman told Moose News an evaluation process of the proposals will help determine where the centres go. There’s no indication how many of the centres could end up in Northern Ontario or in what communities. The call for proposals will go out in early fall but the spokeswoman wasn’t able to say how long communities have to put their proposals together.
