Hail, high winds, and a sometimes fierce downpour have caused power outages and related issues for North Bay residents.

The storm hit shortly before noon, Friday. Many areas of the downtown core were affected, with the power out at traffic lights along Main Street. The outage extended along Main Street West past the Gormanville Road intersection.

North Bay Hydro kept customers updated via social media, indicating that they were working on resolving issues throughout the affected areas.

Areas of Pinewood and the O’Brien Street corridor were also without power until early afternoon on Friday. There were reports of roads flooding for brief periods when the storm was at its peak.
