Reports from the North Bay Police Service (NBPS) say that police continue to field calls from the public with complaints of items being taken from unlocked vehicles. Police say that the thefts are taking place in various areas of the city, often on a nightly basis.
NBPS remind citizens that crime prevention is a shared responsibility. Remove valuables from plain sight, do not leave your identification behind, and always lock your doors.
Police are also investigating a break-and-enter that is thought to have occurred sometime between Aug. 11 and Aug. 15. A house in the 500 block of McIntyre Street East was entered by intruders who ransacked a bedroom and stole some jewellery.
