Future business at the Jack Garland Airport in North Bay looks rosy. That’s one assessment as consultants discussed noise contours from the facility. Although passenger volumes have been flat for about a decade, the airport could see increases in other areas. The consultants believe that the airport could one day house an aircraft maintenance site for wide-bodied planes. Also we could see more cargo plane activity to support mining needs once the Ring of Fire lifts off. The consultants also believe Canadore College could see growth with its helicopter training program with student enrollment growing to 50 from 15.
