North Bay Hydro wants to make the city greener.
They officially launched their Tree Planting Program today. With help from Greening Nipissing and TD Canada Trust, Hydro will be planting 100 mature trees around the city, in places they won’t interfere with power lines.
Chief Operating Officer Todd Wilcox says customers who have had forestry operations at their property in the past can request a tree by calling 705-474-8100 extension 271. If you are planting your own large tree, Wilcox suggests putting it eight metres from a power line.
