North Bay Fire and Emergency Services is considering a burning ban if the warm temperatures do not let up. They have set the open burning rating to high or extreme, which means burning of any kind could be dangerous.
The department reminds people that burning within city limits is not allowed, and only those with a permit can do so in rural areas. If you do have a permit, you must have a responsible person on site at all times to ensure the fire remains small and is completely extinguished.
