Beach Volleyball facility destined for North Bay

The thousands of pounds of sand used in beach volleyball at the Pan Am games in Toronto are headed to North Bay.  The sand will be used to build a world-class beach volleyball facility thanks to a provincial grant of $100,000.

Once complete, the facility will attract international tournaments.  The Vision Volleyball Club is building the facility on the waterfront and includes five courts, lighting and change rooms.

The facility can also be used for beach tennis, badminton and soccer.  In addition to the provincial grant, FedNor is contributing $90,000 toward the same project.
