No people were injured in a barn fire in Feronia Tuesday afternoon, but city fire officials say a significant number of chickens died.
Deputy Fire Chief Greg Saunders says no one was home at the time so no one noticed the fire until it had grown to engulf the building.
He says the roof had collapsed by the time crews arrived on the scene.
The fire was extinguished but Saunders says the barn was a total loss.
The cause has not been determined.
