Barkfest is back on Saturday at the North Bay Humane Society.
The annual microchip clinic and community BBQ runs from 10 am to 1 pm. Officials say microchips, which help make it easy to reunite lost pets with their families, are a form of permanent identification for your pets that are embedded just under the skin between the shoulder blades.
The cost for a microchip is $30 or $45 with a City of North Bay license.
This year’s event also features a cutest pet contest.
