Over half a million dollars has been donated recently to the Canadore College Foundation by college alumni.
Officials say the Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament, held on June 6, was a success, raising $35,000 towards scholarships and bursaries for Canadore students.
The foundation also received two significant donations, including $100,000 for the Children of Alumni Award.
The program ensures the children of Canadore graduates can access automatic support for their educational journey.
Another $380,000 was allocated to the Alumni Community Fund, a resource for various projects including capital, equipment, technology and athletics.
“We are thrilled to support student-centric initiatives,” says Nicole Bamford, President of the Canadore Alumni Board. “These donations are a nod to the enduring connection alumni and community feel to Canadore College. We remain focused on helping students succeed academically and become future leaders.”
The college says the substantial donations expand Canadore’s existing portfolio of scholarships and bursaries.
