North Bay was well represented in the winner’s circle at the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards (NOMFA) recently.
Nicholas Cangiano (picture above) won both Outstanding Album and Songwriter while TIBO won Outstanding Francophone Album.
In the film awards, Red Iron Road: No. 8 Reporting (Matthew Lyon & Aljosha Klimov) won Outstanding Short/Mid-Length Film.
Piotr Skowronski won Outstanding Director – Short/Mid-Length for Bang Bang.
13 award winners were honoured on June 29 in Sudbury.
Cultural Industries Ontario North says this year it received the highest number of music and film submissions in its over two-decade history of hosting the awards ceremony and conference.
