The Heritage Railway and Carousel Company (HRCC) is mourning the loss of long-time member Dan Pigeau.
He had been the company’s Chief Mechanic for the past twelve plus years, and a member for many years before that.
With the death of Pigeau, the waterfront attractions are temporarily closed while they look for a person licensed to operate amusement rides in Ontario.
“Dan will be missed by all the volunteers of the trains and carousels,” says Rod Johnston, Chairperson of the HRCC.
“Dan was quite involved with construction of the Heritage (Big) Carousel in 2002, and instrumental in getting the Winter Wonderland (Small) Carousel in 2005,” he adds.
The Heritage Railway and Carousel Company is extending its deepest sympathy and condolences to Dan’s family.
