City man facing nearly two dozen charges

Two city residents are facing charges after the North Bay Police Service says threatening phone calls were made against two people at a bar and a vehicle fled from police.

The incident happened on Sept. 20.

Police say they pursued the vehicle to the Muskoka area and arrested the pair near Huntsville with help from the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit.

According to police, one was also wanted on outstanding warrants from an unrelated incident earlier this month in the area of McNamara Street, then the Kinsmen Beach.

A 25-year-old North Bay man is facing 23 charges, including flight from police, dangerous driving, kidnapping and firearms-related counts while a 24-year-old city woman is charged with dangerous driving and flight from police.

They were both held for bail hearings at the North Bay Courthouse.
