The new board chair of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), an international organization, is from our area.

Tammy Morison, North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation President and CEO, has been appointed as  chair of the AHP Board of Directors.

The foundation says Morison brings her extensive experience in healthcare philanthropy to the role, along with a passion for strengthening healthcare resources in communities across North America.

“It’s a real honour and a privilege to be appointed as a leader of this board,” says Morison, adding it oversees an organization that works tirelessly to make sure its membership expectations are exceeded.

“Whether that be for education, government relations, benchmarking and so many services that we rely on to help us do the best possible work locally,” Morison says.

Alice Ayres, President and CEO of AHP says they’re thrilled to welcome Morison as their new board chair.

“Her leadership and experience in healthcare philanthropy, combined with her passion for improving health outcomes, will be invaluable to AHP’s mission,” says Ayres. “Tammy’s Canadian perspective also brings distinct value as we expand our commitment to healthcare philanthropy across borders, ensuring our work is inclusive and responsive to diverse healthcare systems and communities. We are excited for the vision Tammy will bring to this role.”

The foundation says Morison has led numerous transformative fundraising initiatives and her unique insights and expertise will serve as invaluable assets to AHP’s mission of inspiring, educating, and connecting professionals in healthcare fundraising.

“One thing I’ve learned in my 20 plus years in healthcare philanthropy is that community to community and country to country we’re all just working our hardest to help ensure our friends, family and loved ones have the best possible care, close to home,” Morison says.

AHP’s website says its members represent more than 2,200 healthcare facilities around the world.
