A donation of nearly $195,000 is helping efforts at Canadore College to bridge the gap between social assistance clients and postsecondary education.
The funding, over two years from TD Bank, is supporting the college’s Resilience Through Education Program.
The college says the program is strategically designed to address critical skills gaps and labour shortages in the workforce and gives those taking part the expertise needed to meet current and future employment demands.
Kirk Kelusky, Chair of the Canadore College Foundation Board of Directors, is thanking TD for their support.
“Their support will have a profound impact on the lives of participants, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve financial independence, ultimately benefitting our entire community.”
The college is looking to support 40 participants in the program.
