The Algonquin girls’ basketball team won the NOSSA ‘A’ championship on the weekend, with a 59-55 overtime win over Val Caron’s Horizon.
The Barons are heading to Kitchener for the OFSAA championship later this week (Nov 21-23).
West Ferris, meantime, is the host team at the OFSAA ‘AA’ girls basketball championship, which starts on Thursday in North Bay.
Games are being played at West Ferris, Chippewa and Algonquin.
In boys’ volleyball, Chippewa is heading to Kingston later this week for the OFSAA ‘AAA’ championship.
The Ravens lost in the NOSSA semifinals, but earned a berth in the provincial championship being the top seed out of pool play.
