Stolen vehicle investigation leads to charges for city man

A 54-year-old North Bay man is facing charges after a North Bay Police Service investigation into a stolen vehicle.

City police say last October, they received a report a vehicle disappeared from a victim’s driveway overnight. It was later located on Main St. East, with “clear signs” that it had been tampered with to start without a key.

According to police, forensic evidence was found in the vehicle, linking a person to the theft.

Police say the accused was located on Lakeshore Drive last Wednesday (Nov. 20), where he was arrested and charged, with about $2900 worth of drugs and cash seized after a search.

Charges include drug trafficking, property obtained by crime and more.

The man was held pending a bail hearing.
