The Labour Market Group says the 499 job postings in Nipissing in October was up 15% compared to a year ago.
However, it was down 15.6 % month-over-month.
Three of the top five employers are in the business of education.
Nipissing University tops the list, followed by the North Bay Regional Health Centre, Ontario Northland, Canadore College and the Near North District School Board.
With just over 22% of the job postings, Health Care & Social Assistance is the top hiring industry.
Educational Services is next at 19%, with Retail Trade rounding out the top three (15.6%).
