The mayor of East Ferris says someone is endangering lives in his community. Bill Vrebosch says someone has removed a wire mesh on a major culvert that stops beavers from building dams. Once the culvert is plugged, the water level rises very quickly and spills onto the road. Vrebosch says this rushing water can cause sinkholes which poses a danger to the unsuspecting public and could kill someone. Vrebosch says this is a criminal issue and the municipality has given Crimestoppers $1,000 to help find the perpetrator. Vrebosch believes the culprits could be environmentalists who believe the municipality is interfering with the beavers’ natural habitat.
