West Nipissing has been named a finalist for the Jays Care Foundation 2025 Field of Dreams grant.

The winner will be announced before Sunday’s Toronto Blue Jays game and the municipality is hosting a community watch party.

Mayor Kathleen Rochon, councillors, youth athletes, local sports organizations, and baseball fans from across the municipality will be there.

If West Nipissing wins, officials say the grant would support the revitalization of Field 1 at Goulard Park.

They say it’s a key recreational space for youth leagues, adult teams, and local schools.

The watch party is taking place at the West Nipissing Sports Hall of Fame, 210 Clark Street, on Sunday, May 4.

Everyone is invited with the doors opening at noon.

The live broadcast starts at 1 pm (Sunday).
