It’s McHappy Day

Thursday is McHappy Day.

All day a portion of food and beverage orders at McDonald’s are supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation and One Kids Place.

Officials say Ronald McDonald House makes a meaningful difference in the lives of families with sick or injured children.

They say that includes the Carriere family from North Bay (pictured above), who spent 70 nights at RMHC Ottawa when their daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of blood and bone marrow cancer.

Along with a place to stay near the hospital, RMHC Ottawa provides the comforts of home with access to a kitchen, common areas and more.

Last year, families from more than 60 communities were supported by RMHC Ottawa.

Funds are also being raised through the sale of McHappy Day socks or a McHappy Day Heart.
