Drug trafficking charge laid against city man

A 36-year-old North Bay man is facing several charges after police seized about $6,000 worth of suspected cocaine and $9,500 in cash last week.

The list of charges includes drug trafficking.

The North Bay Police Service says around 11:30 am on May 6, a person got into a vehicle in the Lakeshore Drive and Thelma Street area, with the vehicle then driving down the street a short distance before the person got out.

Both were then arrested with police then searching a residence on Sheryl Crescent and a storage unit.

Along with the suspected drugs and cash, a quantity of ammunition was seized.

Police say the accused was held in custody after a bail hearing.
