MP Pauline Rochefort’s constituency offices are now open for business.
The North Bay office is at the same 375 Main St. West location that was former MP Anthony Rota’s office.
“I look forward to meeting with the residents of Nipissing—Timiskaming in the constituency office and engaging with them to hear their concerns and provide any assistance they may need,” says Rochefort.
In her first week, she attended northern Ontario, provincial and national caucus meetings, and participated in the election of the Speaker of the House.
Her seat in the House of Commons is next to two fellow first-time MPs, one representing Port Moody—Coquitlam and the other Hamilton Centre.
“I spent two weeks in orientation,” says Rochefort. “With a total of 112 new MPs, the focus was on in-person and virtual training, from how to navigate the business of parliament to how to run a constituency office.”
The House has been debating the Throne Speech, and MP Rochefort will be commenting on behalf of the citizens of Nipissing—Timiskaming on Monday.
The North Bay office will be open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Phone: 705-474-6155).
Rochefort says constituents will be able to obtain information and assistance with any Government of Canada program, including Canada Pension Plan, Employment Insurance, Citizenship and Immigration, Passports, and Canada Revenue Agency.
The Temiskaming Shores constituency office in New Liskeard is open Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
