Job postings in Nipissing District were up about 11% both year-over-year and month-over-month in April.
The Labour Market Group (LMG) reports 556 job postings that month.
“This figure sees almost identical increases in year-over-year and month-over-month comparisons, suggesting that the increase is not just because of seasonal requirements but rather an overall increase, something we have seen in January and March of this year,” states LMG’s April Jobs Report. Officials also say the number of unique employers posting jobs has increased for five consecutive months, to 260 in April.
The top five employers include:
- North Bay Regional Health Centre
- Nipissing University
- Ontario Northland
- Conseil Scolaire Catholique Franco-Nord
- Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School
With more than a quarter of the job postings, Health Care & Social Assistance was the top hiring industry.
Educational Services was next, followed by Retail Trade.
