A 36-year-old St. Thomas man is facing over a dozen charges after city police say a vehicle was stolen on May 31 and driven on the Kinsmen Trail the next day.
The North Bay Police Service says officers spotted a stolen vehicle and when they attempted to stop it, the driver fled the area at a high rate of speed, then entered the pathway in the area of First Avenue East.
According to police, it was driven down the trail then crashed through a barricade to get onto Second Avenue East.
City police say the vehicle was then abandoned, and the accused was located on Brookes Street.
No injuries were reported.
Charges include theft, dangerous operation, failing to stop after a collision, and more.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
